She started her matchmaking career working on various projects in wellness and life coaching. She became certified in areas from matchmaking to nutrition. With her entrepreneurial and wellness background she has helped guide individuals through difficult avenues of life. From finding love to working through personal life issues, Ms. Cowan is committed to providing a service in areas of life often neglected due to one’s busy life style, which she shares with other during her monthly Just Us Single Ladies Seminars.

Ms. Cowan was once a client for a very high-end matchmaking company, and did not receive the service she deserved as a paying client. She felt like “a number” in a multitude of many hence her wishes went unheard and her thoughts and desires to find love through this vehicle were challenged. Though this experience was disappointing it was clear that the high volume environment, which is common in traditional matchmaking agencies, could not offer the personalized service that is needed when connecting two people. All experiences serve a purpose in life’s journey and this experience wasn’t any different. A new desire emerged, the desire to improve the matchmaking experience.

It was at this point that Cowan Introductions was born. She is now devoted to providing exceptional customer service that her elite clientele deserves. Ms. Cowan takes pride in making sure every single client feels satisfied and important. She finds herself lucky to be touched by and have the ability to work with the lives of so many unique individuals. The desire to help others find love gave birth to Cowan Introductions.

She also brings her unique combination of personality traits (creative, balanced, etc.) along. This enormously helpful book also takes you into the mind of the single man and shows you what men think about love, commitment and dating as well as what makes a man runaway from a relationship. Winning with Green: The state of the environment is a cause that is near and dear to Cowan Introductions. It affects all aspects of our lives. We are aware that giving back is important to one’s balance and growth. When you become a client, a portion of your fee will be donated to the Urban Green Council of New York. Ms. Cowan is currently a member of Green America, World Environmental Organization, Environment New York and Green Business Association.

1. How did you get into matchmaking?

My background in Life Coaching includes assisting my clients with building strong relationships. I felt a desire to utilize those skills which led me to start a matchmaking company. After deciding this is what I wanted to do I became matchmaking certified and I realize all of my experiences led me to this place.

2. Why did you start your company?

I was once a client for a very high-end matchmaking company, and did not receive the service I deserved as a paying client. 3. How did you fund the startup?

I funded this project with my savings.

4. What have been some challenges and how have you overcome them?

One of my initial obstacles were that some viewed matchmaking as a thing of the past. With the use of social media and the dating networks that exist in today’s world I found that match making styles could be seen as dated. Therefore, I continued to talk to professional men and women to determine what the industry was lacking. My “mock dating” approach along with the continuous feedback throughout the process allows me to have genuine relationships with all of my clients.

5. What do you enjoy most about what you do?

I love what I do and more than anything I love making a difference in the lives of others. Connecting people that belong together has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I could not be happier. There is nothing else I would rather be doing!

6. How do you get clients?

I started out with my network of friends and colleagues which led to referrals. I have recently received clients through my advertising and marketing efforts.

7. How does it work–the process?

Most matchmaking services are very simple, they conduct a consultation and evaluation of their client then search their database for a potential partner to match. They exchange numbers the day of the date and then leave the rest up to chance. Cowan Introductions offers a different type of matchmaking service and experience. Cowan Introductions differentiates itself from competitors by offering a concierge experience for our clients. For example, I am a Certified Life Coach before my clients meet their dates I set up a coaching session with them to see if they are really committed to the process. This is separate from their intial consultation. Step two, I set up a mock date with them to test their dating skills. If they’re in need of a makeover a stylist will be provided to help adjust their image. Step three is to set them up with a compatible match. Step four I will plan their date and set it up for them. After their date I will have a conversation with my client and his date for feed back to figure out the next step.

8. Goals for this year?

The goal for Cowan Introductions is to become a strong presence not only in New York but beyond.

9. What’s your biggest success story so far?

For me any client that makes a connection that leads into a long lasting committed relationship is a major success for me.

10. How does the screening process work?

All male clients chosen for the company goes through an extensive background check before we set them up on a date.

11. Do women pay for your services or just men?

Women do not pay for the service only our male clients.

12. What can women expect from your dating seminars?

They will have a better understanding of the matchmaking process and how to navigate the dating scene.

13. Do you believe in the traditional dating model where the guy pays for the first date?

100 percent!

14. Are you on social media? What are the links to your social networks?

No, my company is not on social media. We respect our clients and members privacy.

15. Long term goals?

To expand Cowan Introductions to other major cities while still providing individual attention to my clients.
