DLC Backpackers Travel Stories Volume 1 held in Manila Philippines

DLC Backpackers, who caters travel packages mainly in Asia nd The United States of America including New York, held its first ever Travel Stories on August 27, 2016 at what is now dubbed as the “Backpackers Home” — Troika Resto Art Gallery, which is located at Sampaloc, Manila. Local and International Travelers graced the occasion including several Troika loyalists.

It was a night full of laughter, fun and learnings that was hosted by the company’s Chief Communications Officer, Engr. Jeyvie Odiame together with Ms. Monica dela Cruz. It was started with a prayer from one of our Travel Experts – Ms. Nicole Lily Valderrama and an opening message was given by one of the owners of Troika, DLC’s Chief Operations Officer, Ms. Inez Valeri Valeriano.

The event was also graced by one of the Troika-formed bands — Jewel. It is composed Ms. Jewel Calma – the vocalist, Mr. Mark Edward Hipona – the beatbox drummer and Mr. EJ Mahipus – the guitarist. They rendered beautiful songs that really hyped the crowd.

Mr. Niño Bautista opened the Travel Stories. He is a professional photographer by profession and he used it as his initial tool to try and love traveling before eventually becoming a solo backpacker. Ms. Nerissa Magay is a solo lady traveler. She had a lot of experiences with her travels and being independent is one of the best things that traveling gave her. Although she lost the love of her life for traveling frequently — the lessons she learned from backpacking will always be with her.

Games were also conducted to break the ice and different prizes were given. Bring Me, Q&A and Jack en Poy games were all played during the entire night! The excitement of the atmosphere really did not subside for the entire event.

Travel Stories Part II was then started by Mr. Rhyan Medina. Rhyan is a local traveler who met the culture of the Philippines in a deeper sense. Communicating with strangers is one of the skills that was developed in his local travels. Ms. Jaecelle Marie Gloria, on the other hand, has already travelled internationally. She was sent at London by her institution as exchange students. She used that privilege to achieve her passion to travel. What a way to get free flights and allowance! The last one was Mr. Anton Arriola. He is not a solo backpacker, instead, he frequently travels with his family. Travelling gives him and his family a space to know each other well and to get connected better. Since then, travelling has been a part of the family’s culture.

Everyone was really amazed on how travels change people’s horizon!
Before the program formally ends, the company’s Chief Executive Officer — Ms. Trishie dela Cruz and her partner, DLC’s Chief Production Officer, gave everyone beautiful words and experiences in traveling that they will never forget. They emphasized on how travel has strengthen their relationship and how exploring different places and people help them create connections and ideas that are beneficial for their future plans in life.

No one indeed got bored by the whole event. They thought they’d be just going back home with all those fun memories and learnings but they were surprised when they got freebies! They had P500 – worth Gift Certificate, P300 discount for Trip to Bolinao and Terrestrimin — one of the newly developed products of DLC Enterprise. Major prizes were also given — Ms. Trisha Anne Reyes won the P3,000 – worth Gift Certificate, Mr. Rhyan Medina got the Trip to Bolinao and Ms. Jaecelle Marie Gloria won the Trip to Singapore by naming the most number of guests inside Troika. Before the event was officially closed, several guests gave a speech on why did they stayed at Troika and their only reason is that they all got inspired by the DLC enterprise’s team and to travel.
