Infographic: Top 5 Most Reliable Cars by Claim Rate

Endurance is excited to announce its first-ever published infographic breaking down the Top 5 Most Reliable Vehicles on the market. Using three years worth of data, twenty-six different carmakers, and 150 models, Endurance was able to conduct extensive research that led to their findings. In fact, they navigated through a database consisting of over 20,000 vehicles covered by Endurance Vehicle Protection plans to filter out this information and provide it to drivers all across the globe.

Noted in the infographic, the study concluded that pickup trucks were found to be the most reliable (29% claim rate), beating out minivans (41%), sedans (34%), and SUVs (39%) in terms of claim rate for vehicles currently on the road today. Endurance hypothesizes that these findings were due to the nature in which pickup vehicles are used. Generally speaking, they found that pickup vehicles held up better than the comparable car types because of a more rigorous manufacturing process due to the demonstrated “rugged” driving that most pickups endure.

Furthermore, it seems that American made vehicles do not hold up as well as foreign made ones, as the top five reliable vehicles consisted of three Asian made vehicles: Toyota, KIA, and Hyundai. Perhaps there is a price difference between American-made vehicles and foreign manufactured ones. A lower price for American-made cars could bridge the gap a bit. Not in terms of reliability, but in terms of getting the most for your money. But we will have to wait until Endurance creates another infographic to be certain.
